It fits if…

• Launch a real MVP (0→1)

  You've validated the idea but have nothing in production. The PE takes it to real users in weeks, without assembling a squad.

• Add AI or agents to your product

  You want an AI or agentic feature and your team isn't AI-native. The PE already masters Claude Code and agents in production.

• Side-bets and experiments

  That idea off the roadmap your core team never prioritizes. The PE builds it in parallel, without diverting your people.

• Finish what got stuck halfway

  A Lovable that outgrew itself or a freelancer who left something half-built. The PE takes it to production.

We don't recommend it if…

• You need to scale a team, not one person

  For a product that needs 10+ people sustained, a PE doesn't replace an engineering org.

• It's a highly specialized or critical domain

  Heavy ML, low-level systems, hardware, real-time or regulated software (medical, banking, avionics). You need specialists there.

• Maintaining a large, living legacy

  The PE shines at 0→1 and greenfield. A huge codebase with tribal knowledge needs people embedded long-term.

• You want world-class in a single discipline

  A top designer, an SRE for massive scale, a pure data scientist. The PE is senior across the whole chain, not the best at one axis.
